Frequently asked questions
Is vDPO legal advice?
No. vDPO is a compliance tool. Its controls, scores, reports and generated documents support your own professional judgement and are not legal advice, a legal opinion or a certification. See the Disclaimer.
Which laws does vDPO cover?
Privacy and data protection laws across Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa and Oceania, including India’s DPDP Act and Rules. The gap analyses and workspace tools such as the breach register follow the DPDP Act; a note says so when a client also follows other laws.
Who can see my clients’ data?
Only you. Real clients are encrypted with their own key. See How vDPO protects your data.
Can I take my data out of vDPO?
Yes. Download encrypted backups of real clients, reports for any client, and CSV files of the inventory and registers.
What is the difference between a practice and a real client?
Practice clients are fictional, for learning, and are not encrypted. Real clients are actual organisations, each with its own subscription and encryption.
Why does a control not count in the score?
It has been marked Not applicable, with a reason, or retired from the control library.
Do vDPO Auditor and Advisor send my files to vDPO?
No. They run in your own AI assistant. See vDPO Auditor and Advisor.
How do I delete my account?
In Settings. It removes your clients and their data straight away and cannot be undone. See Settings and your profile.
